Main Method?

Recommended Posts

So im getting my second round of tangiers tomorrow and since I pretty much wasted my whole first batch trying to pack it the same way over and over, I thought I would see which method everyone else uses on here. Ive been hearing good things about snoopys method in the wiki section.

I pack as much as I can fit, I smash it down with my thumb, and pack more on top of that. Repeat until TIGHT and just a little bit above the ring. Foil tightly. Self taught, and it smokes beautifully 99.9% of the time.

Why does this stuff have to be so diffecult..

you mainly just need to get your heat management down

acclimate and Pack your bowl like Kevin

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlMvEp6HAK8

DO your hole pattern sort of like raversx video but instead of big and a lot of holes on the outside you want to do the opposite... you want a few holes on the out side and not as big because your coals are going to be on the outside rim while smoking so all those holes will heat up the coals from you sucking in and make the tangier to hot and make heat management to hard

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjF8kRw1Q7A

Also to remember after poking your holes you want to suck in from the bottom of the bowl so you can make sure you have no air restriction... after blow out and make sure your foil is tight

Also this video will show you a little about heat management... but remember to rotate your coals... dont be afraid to take a coal off.... and learn to push your coals to the outside rim

how long did you wait until you put that 3rd coal. keep the two and rotate them every 2 minutes for about 15 minutes then if it isnt smoking add the third one. Tangiers takes time to build up the heat and if you add too much it gets harsh. patience my friend.

I let it acclimate for about 16 hours or so. And It just seems like everyone else has it down so easy lol..

And yes Indian you should make a vid and dedicate it to the tangiers noob "cXc5120"
